Natural Ways To Lose Weight And Detoxify Your System

By Marcus Morgerlly

One of the primary factors that contribute to obesity is the consumption of convenience foods. It is undeniable that these ready-to-eat and fast food items are delicious and low-cost; unfortunately, they also are calorie-dense and have higher concentrations of sodium, saturated fat, and fast-burning carbohydrates. These food items are also often heavily processed and thus are contaminated by various ingredients deemed unnecessary for human life like flavor enhancers, food colorings, and artificial preservatives. Not only do these food items add pounds and inches, they can also put you at higher risk for developing a myriad of health issues like arthritis, cardiovascular disorders, and some malignancies.

Eating the right amount and quality of food will assist in weight management and in the removal of harmful toxins in the body. Contrary to what other people believe, you don't have to drastically lower your calorie intake, or resort to meds and fad diets to lose weight, if anything, these methods will only leave you feeling worse than before you started, and potentially put your health at greater risk. Instead, endeavor to incorporate more whole, natural food items in your diet. Rather than loading yourself with non-nutritive, calorie dense ready-to-eat products and fast food offerings, eat fruits and garden veggies. Diversify your protein sources as well to include those from plants, such as nuts and beans, and dairy, such as yogurt.

Be more selective of your carbohydrates as well. For instance, instead of buying that white loaf, buy brown bread because especially those that contain whole grain to introduce more fiber in your system. In addition, you should replace saturated oil with unsaturated ones as the latter can contribute greatly to increasing your blood cholesterol. Eating healthy would also include eating raw fruits and garden veggies, such as those you'd typically find in salad green and juices. Since processing is kept at a minimal, you can get more cell-protective antioxidants from these food items.

Juicing is one method that can facilitate weight loss and detoxification. Those who adhere to juicing assert that such practice makes absorption of nutrients faster. If you want to give juicing a try, it is best to add some of the pulp back into the extract to give you the sensation of fullness and prevent hunger pangs. Make sure you look into the calorie content of fruits and veggies you are going to juice though as a few of them are high on calories and sugar. There are also juicing regimens which entail fasting for a week or so, the Master Cleanse program for example.

Those who follow Master Cleanse program takes a cup of laxative tea in the morning followed by six to twelve lemonade drinks throughout the day. There are no in depth research conducted to verify the claims made by proponents of the Master Cleanse program though, and some nutritionists have also voiced concerns that the prolonged fasting inherent to this regimen can leave you dehydrated and at risk for electrolyte deficits. As mentioned in the earlier paragraphs, you do not have to restrict your calorie intake drastically to trigger weight reduction. It is just a matter of making healthier choices.

A well-balanced diet can only do so much though, so it would be a good idea to make modifications to your physical activity as well. Spending 300 minutes in a week doing moderate intensity aerobic exercises like brisk walking, and performing resistance training on at least two days of your week, can help you achieve your ideal body weight more effectively, and keep the weight you have already lost from coming back.
