Revitalize Your Life With 5-Day Detox Diet

By Vanessa Summer

Every day life gets a little harder--there are bigger stressors, toxic substances in the air and foods we eat and drink and of course, the pressure of daily life does not help much either. These can also have terrible effects on your body so every once in a while you must cleanse your body. You might not think your body is that unhealthy from inhaling car exhaust or other toxins but it can build up as time passes and eventually the effects start to be felt.

This is the reason it's good to go through a detox for your body and to help you regain your health both mentally and physically so that you can continue to have healthy relationships with the people who surround you. Your body has an incredible ability to mend itself, and has its own detox system, but with too many pollutants in the body, it can use some help. When your bodily tissues get extremely stressed, they have a tendency to fail to function properly which can cause all kinds of problems and have a harmful effect on the cleansing process. To help your body get purged, there is a 5-day detox plan that will not only renew your body, but your spirit as well.

The 5-day detox plan comes with a diet in which certain foods are completely avoided but lots of fruit and green leafy veggies are eaten. In a detox diet, it's important to absolutely remove all of the additives, preservatives, fats and oils from your diet. Because they're hard to digest, you should keep away from meat during these days also--or at least a couple of them. Some of the foods that are great for this diet regime include garlic, beets, beans, broccoli and nuts. Other than drinking water, which is a universal solvent, the only liquid you have to be drinking is grapefruit juice. A key factor in the detox is water, which removes toxins out of your body in the forms of urine, stool and sweat.

You eat quite a lot less food while you are on a detox diet but you do not starve. Because the only foods you're going to consume are healthy foods that are good for your gastrointestinal system, you'll have more stamina than you did previously. If you're not sure about the cleansing procedure, you might want to talk to a nutritionist or professional to find the best one for your body. As the toxins get flushed out of your body, you'll feel worse but if you carry on you'll get lots of new energy and even better alertness both mentally and physically. Everybody knows just how crucial it is to be clean outside but nobody thinks about what works best for being clean inside.

You know yourself rather well and know your feelings and if you feel even a little run down, you need to think about taking part in a detoxification program. If you are living in a polluted environment, it's difficult to prevent putting toxins in your body.
